Streets Of Heaven
CD Review by Jim Weaver
An artist who's time has
come; Sherrie' Austin came on to the Nashville scene by way of
Australia and it's amazing to me how some of the Aussie Artists these
days sound more country than what Nashville is throwing our way.
Seriously! Sherrie recently signed on with Broken
Bow Records which has been steadily building an impressive
stable of artists including Joe Diffie, Chad Brock, Craig
Morgan and some really talented newcomers. Sherrie's latest offering
is her fourth album and by far her best work, out of the 12 songs on the
CD, she wrote or co-wrote 11 of them. The feelings in the songs are real
and from the heart of a songwriter, not just a performer. Sherrie has a
ton of energy packed into her small frame, she also has a bit of a
unique voice which sets her apart even further in my mind.
first single and the title track to the CD, "Streets Of Heaven"
is a masterpiece that will touch the soul of any parent who loves their
children. If you don't believe this song touches people read some of the
mail Sherrie' has received about it. The song is making a slow but
steady climb up the charts currently in the top 30 in both Billboard and
a tough road to make it in the music biz, slugging it out with the likes
of B&D, Toby, Alan, Martina, Tim, Kenny and the other superstars
who's singles get almost instantly added to radio play lists, plus
there's a huge parade of new artists the big record companies are
pushing to get airplay. If you're a radio programmer and you're
interested in putting great songs on the air, give another listen to Sherrie'
Of Heaven track list:
Singin' to the Scarecrow
2. Small Town Boy
3. Ride ' em Cowgirl
4. Driving into the Sun
5. Fools Like Us
6. Somebody's Somebody
8. This Town is That Small
9. Remind Me
10. I'm Still Fallin'
11. Streets of Heaven
12. Like a Cat
Review by Jim Weaver:
FLASH intro page, but it's easily skippable so good job there. After you
get past that this is a very nice looking and easy to navigate website.
Even though there's not a specific gallery page there's plenty of photos
to browse throughout the site. It would be nice if there were a message
board or fan chat room but that's not a have-to-have kinda thing, it's
just nice for your fans to have a place to get together online.
