Brooks
& Dunn - Red Dirt Road
CD Review by Jim Weaver
CD
Review:
Since Slim
& Howdy's first CD came out back in February of 1993 these guys
have won more awards and fans and well deserved Kudos from every
direction than any duo... ever. There have been several occasions over
the years where it looked like they were going to go their separate ways
until 2001 and the release of the Steers & Stripes CD
and the supporting Neon Circus and Wild West Tour. These guys
just can't seem to do anything wrong, or can they? This Tuesday (7/15)
is the release of their latest CD Red Dirt Road.
Hope I didn't scare you with that earlier sentence but let me say this, Red
Dirt Road is not your usual Brooks & Dunn CD. There's
some stretching and exploring going on here, you'll hear Country music
of course, but then you'll also hear Rock, Gospel and Blues. In short,
you're going to hear the real roots of Kix and Ronnie and all
their influences on this album. Not that that's a bad thing, for someone
like me who has a love for all kinds of music this is fun stuff, however
if your strictly into Honky Tonkin', Lovin' and Cheatin' songs you might
want to try it before you buy it. In short, I like it... you, who knows.

Review by Jim Weaver:
Looks great, where's all the neat stuff? Oh there it is, tucked neatly
behind the password box for members only. I hate that! If you've read my
piece on the ABC's of Artist Website
Design then you know how I feel about the basics of what the
fans want. I believe most fans are kind of like me, love the music but
can't afford to join 20 or 30 fan clubs just to find out all the info I
would like to know about an artist. There needs to be a good amount of
info and pictures for the casual fan who, with a little loving
care, could be turned into a
"rabid-$15-a-year-fan-club-member" fan... if only they had
some more cool stuff to look at.
