Review: As for the new CD, it's nice to be one of the top stars in your chosen genre of music because you get the pick of the litter when it comes to songs to record for your new album... and as usual, George has picked some the best country songs out there from the best writers and rising stars. Artists like Anthony Smith, Billy Yates (reviewed here last week) and Jim Lauderdale just to name a few. Not to take anything away from the rest of the writers on this CD, those were just the first names to jump off the page at me. I'm sure if you ever read the liner notes inside the CD you'll recognize most of these folks. Great songwriters have a nasty habit of turning out great songs and then an big star like George gets hold of them and turns them into hits. Although
it's all King George if I had to pick a few favs on the CD, well here
goes... Maybe George will cut a stinker of a album someday, this one's not it. Rating: Buy it!
